By-Laws of the Hudson Independent School District School Health Advisory Council |
The Purpose of the SHAC is to serve in an advisory capacity to Hudson ISD in order to promote student performance by promoting healthy lifestyles. The School Health program is defined as the structure that supports education through health education, physical education, health services, food services, drug and tobacco prevention programs, safe and healthy environment for staff and students, wellness and integration of school and community. Membership The council shall be composed of a minimum of 10 members. Each member will serve a two-three year term, and may serve more than the minim years of service. Members will include the Health service director, food service director, PE reprehensive, minim of two student members, Administration staff member, and may include other personnel of Hudson ISD. Membership will include parents and community members. Candidates for membership must be interested in promoting healthy lifestyles through a well coordinated and effective school healthy program. Meetings
All meetings are subject to "open meetings"
Chairperson shall serve an unexpired term and any vacancy will be filled for an unexpired term. Amendments The By-laws may be amended, repealed or added to, or new bi-laws may be adopted by the majority vote of a quorum at a meeting duly called for this purpose according to the articles or by-laws. Committees The council may establish one or more committees as the need arise.
